The Glory of the Lord Filled the House

September 5

2 Chron 5:13-14 – It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.

Worship invites the presence of the Lord. God’s presence was manifested as the musicians and singers began to praise and give God thanks. They were unified in their worship. The cloud was a manifestation of the glory of God. God’s presence (glory) filled the house.

We are a royal priesthood. “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9). We are supposed to worship the Lord. We should lead the way in worship.

God’s glory still fills the house. We are the temple or house of God. As we praise and worship the Lord, the king of glory comes in and fills us to the point of overflow. He fills us with His glory individually and corporately.

Prayer Focus: Heavenly Father, let your glory fill this temple.

Verse of the Day: 2 Chron 7:2 – And the priests could not enter into the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord had filled the Lord’s house.

Living the Word Today: Fervently worship the Lord with your whole being.

Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus!

Happy 39th anniversary Greenville Community Christian Church. Our anniversary theme is “Be Still and Know,” from Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” Join us in rejoicing and celebrating what the Lord has done over the years to bring us to this point. All praise, honor, and glory belong to God.

Ps 46 is a message to the Saints. The Lord is comforting and strengthening us through this beautiful psalm. We are reminded that Lord is our strength, and we are to trust in Him. He is God. Therefore, we should not fret or be anxious. Trust in God. He is our place of refuge.
