Worship in the Beauty of Holiness

September 4

1 Chron 16:29 – Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

WORSHIP- Reverent devotion and allegiance pledged to God; the rituals or ceremonies by which this reverence is expressed. The English word worship comes from the Old English word worth-ship, a word which denotes the worthiness of the one receiving the special honor or devotion.(Nelson’s Illustrated Bible Dictionary)

Worship the Lord in the presence of others

Ps 108:3 – I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.

Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness

Isa 6:3 – And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

Worship the Lord in spirit and in truth

John 4:24 – God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Ps 95:6-8 – O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Today if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

Prayer Focus: Father, with my whole being I worship you.

Verse of the Day: Ps 96:9 – O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.

Living the Word Today: Spend time in the presence of God just worshipping Him for who He is. Make preparation for the worship service on tomorrow. Come rested, refreshed and ready to give your all in worship.

Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus!

Happy 39th anniversary Greenville Community Christian Church. Our anniversary theme is “Be Still and Know,” from Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” Join us in rejoicing and celebrating what the Lord has done over the years to bring us to this point. All praise, honor, and glory belong to God.

Ps 46 is a message to the Saints. The Lord is comforting and strengthening us through this beautiful psalm. We are reminded that Lord is our strength, and we are to trust in Him. He is God. Therefore, we should not fret or be anxious. Trust in God. He is our place of refuge.
